Can nurses from the Philippines adjust to our culture?

The culture of the Philippines, especially in highly populated urban areas, has incorporated much of the commercial culture of the United Shopping malls in the Philippines contain most of the same types of outlets we find in the United States and American fast food is available everywhere. After 400 years of Spanish domination, the Philippines became a colony of the United States in 1901. Independence came to the Philippines, after a short WW II occupation by Japan, in 1945.

Filipinos have their own culture, with strong family ties, their own language and many fine traditions. However, their desire to develop professionally and to assist their families back home provides them with a solid foundation to adjust to a similar, but new culture in the US.
